SmartSynergy IKT - Potentials for synergies

For the management of Smart Grids different data have to be noted and distributed. Different applications for Smart Grids need different requests on the kind and quality of data. Objects of this project are the development of concepts for cost efficient and synergistic useable information and communication systems.

Smart Heat Networks

The meaning of this project are the concepts and their potentials for the transfer of Smart Grids approach to local and district heating supply grids. At a special heating grid different control and management strategies are applied, examined and further measures for an optimized grid operation will be developed. Other outcomes of the project are guidelines for the grid operation and measures for the extension to other parts of the heating grid of the Salzburg AG.

Smart Web Grid

Future applications of Smart Grids will be based on an intensive interaction and communication between the supply grid and grid players like the customers, energy suppliers or users of electric vehicles are. As part of this project an information model is developed which offers possibilities for customers to access to future services of Smart Grids (for example: control of heating …). So, different advantages of Smart Grids should be made available for customers.

HiT – Buildings as interactive players in Smart Grids

Due to by this demonstration project in the city of Salzburg a building is constructed which reaches the highest of technology. One of the features of this building is the compatibility with Smart Grids applications. The building has smart meters and control concepts for the feed-in of electrical energy which is supplied by the houses photovoltaic plant and for the recharging of electrical vehicles.
