The aim is the development of a valid set of specific values and a guideline as a basis for energy self-sufficient district development. Based on the results, a masterplan (energy-network) for the district Graz-Reininghaus shall be developed. Future-oriented "city-building-blocks" will be implemented as flagships of innovation.

The production order doesn't only influence logistic and operational ratios, but also shows effects on the environment as well as ergonomics and the staff's psychology. Aim of the project was to develop a method to optimize the job order planning in consideration of an integrated evaluation in terms of sustainable economic activity.
Development of high quality ecological solutions for thermal insulation systems on the basis of reed
Exterior and interior insulation systems containing reed as insulation material were developed. The solutions integrate insulation material, fastening and plaster (as well as optional heating for the interior insulation). A concept for the renovation of an old building using a reed insulation system was developed.
Urban MoVe - Private law contracts as innovative instruments for city and mobility planning.
The research project Urban MoVe investigated to what extent private-law contracts (e.g. mobility contracts, funds, urban development contracts) are suitable as municipal planning and steering instruments for mobility at residential locations based on best practice analyzes and implemented national practical examples.

The project aims to provide the basis for a transition strategy towards the establishment of sustainability-orientated production and consumption systems. Post City Linz - Biodiversity in the CO2-neutral urban quarter
The project "Post City Linz" aims to show that a currently unattractive industrial wasteland can be transformed into a microclimatically ambitious, energy- and resource-efficient quarter with 150,000m² of gross floor area by means of an innovative mix of office, commercial, hotel and residential uses. The focus is on the integration of biodiversity promotion, a CO2 neutral energy supply and innovative energy management in the quarter, animal aided design as well as rainwater management based on the principle of the "sponge city".

Salzburg:KanS aligns the vision and climate protection goals of the city of Salzburg with the climate neutrality targets of the province and estimates the sector-specific CO2 reduction contributions until 2030. Virtual reality (VR) has the potential to make complex issues more quickly comprehensible and directly tangible. In the VR4UrbanDev project, we are using this potential for energy planning processes for buildings and urban districts. On the basis of test areas, we develop methods for importing and visualising energy-related real-time data and simulation data in the VR environment.
BTTAB - Broad-based testing of energy-efficient demonstration buildings with thermally activated building components
Buildings with thermal building component activation that have not yet been researched in as many federal states and application categories as possible will be monitored, which will include operating data as well as the experiences of those involved.
